Volunteer Spotlight
Jason Severs
CREMS is proud to honor EMT-III Jason Severs in our next Volunteer Spotlight! Many Copper Basin residents know Jason as a consummate volunteer who donates substantial time to numerous organizations with very diverse causes. Notably, Jason is a Certified Firefighter 1 who is the Chief of the Gakona Volunteer Fire Department (GVFD). The Gakona Fire Department is also a State Certified EMS Service and he responds to virtually all the 911 dispatches in Gakona’s service area and many in Glennallen and surrounding areas whenever he is nearby.
Jason volunteers as the President and Race Manager of the Copper Basin 300 sled dog race, is a board member for Cross Road Health Ministries, has been the director for the local LEPC, and is the Pastor of Old Paths Independent Baptist Church.
Jason’s journey with CREMS began over 14 years ago as an ETT. Within a year he had completed his EMT-1 certification, 6 years later, he became an EMT-II and then within a few more years, an EMT-3 and is also a certified Alaska EMS Instructor who has shared his knowledge and experience with many other local residents.
Jason enjoys serving his neighbors and offering his assistance in their time of need and this can be seen in everything he does for our communities. CREMS is thankful for Jason’s commitment and dedication to our region and we are honored that he chooses to donate some of his time to CREMS.
